1991-1995 Philadelphia (P) World War II Half Dollar ($1/2) Coin and Medal Set Uncirculated (Commemorative Coin and Victory Medal Set) in Original Government Packaging (OGP)
More than 16 million American men and women served in the Armed Forces of the United States during World War II. In recognition of their heroic efforts to protect freedom and democracy, each was awarded one of the three following medals: American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal or European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, authorized by Executive Order of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
This striking reproduction of the Victory Medal -- originally produced by the U.S. Mint -- has been produced exclusively for this special collector's edition. The medal is accompanied by the World War II 50th Anniversary Commemorative Clad Half Dollar, issued by the United States Mint in recognition of our country's participation in World War II.
Both the coin and the medal honor the extraordinary efforts of each and every American who courageously served our country... and defend the freedoms upon which it was founded.
